Who doesn’t need a #SHAMATE wig? A recent pop up installation at Tank Shanghai brought Shamate founding member Luo Fuxing back to Shanghai and back into the spotlight. 

A highly ridiculed movement that emerged in the late ’00s, Shamate has since become a talking point among academic and art circles. Now more and more, you can also experience the shamate life.

You have been to MoMA in New York City, but have you been to the MAP in Shanghai? 

The Museum of Art Pudong (MAP), located at the Shanghai’s iconic Pearl Tower, has become one of the viral art hangout for young Chinese people.

For the opening exhibition, it features the world-known Chinese gunpowder artist Cai Guo-Qiang, Spanish surrealist painter Joan Miró and Tate Britain’s collection.

Opened this summer, it's billed as a "hyperkinetic immersive environment" where you can enter virtual reality boxing matches, super realistic racing simulations, and even karaoke in space-age graphics that are projected around you so that all your friends can see what you're seeing.
